Lamine Yamal is a Spain footballer who plays as a right winger for FC Barcelona and has 28 senior caps.

Yamal became Spain's youngest senior player and started every match of the European Championship winning campaign.

He plays as an inverted right winger, coming inside onto his stronger foot and linking with the advanced midfielders.

His international appearances have come almost entirely in competitive fixtures rather than friendlies, unusual for a player of his age.

Lamine Yamal wears No. 19 - the breakthrough shirt. No. 19 is often the shirt a young attacker wears on the way up - not yet a first-choice number, but one that usually gets upgraded quickly if he delivers.

He wears it at FC Barcelona and for Spain as a right winger. 28 caps and 7 international goals on his record so far, on a senior debut in 2023. Numbers do not score goals, but they do tell you what a team expects from the player wearing one.

Lamine Yamal is listed as a right winger and carries No. 19 - the breakthrough shirt. Position and number together are the two things a supporter reads before anything else on a team sheet, and they are also the two things a coach changes most often.

He is the only right winger listed in the Spain squad on this page, which makes the position his by default. His international appearances have come almost entirely in competitive fixtures rather than friendlies, unusual for a player of his age.
